Holly Montgomery

Holly Montgomery is a singer-songwriter, composer and bass player from Los Angeles who has produced three CDs that are widely available. She is the debut artist for Choice Hotels Music, an initiative that supports artists and directly benefits a featured charity through donations per download. The National Academy of Songwriters awarded Montgomery with the title Best Acoustic Band in Los Angeles, and, most recently, she headlined a performance at the CD release party for her newest album Uncanny Valley.

Music with a Purpose. Montgomery, a believer in giving back, has spent a considerable amount of her career creating music with a message. She wrote My Brother’s Keeper, a song celebrating and supporting the rebuilding efforts in the Gulf Coast Region and Looking for the Road, a song dedicated to the volunteers of So Others Might Eat (SOME) and the homeless clients they serve. Montgomery also co-wrote Sweetest Dreams, which is based on the poems of Kai Croft, a client of The ServiceSource Network and Change The World, the anthem of the 2010 Whitman-Walker AIDS Walk in Washington, DC.

Montgomery has also performed at the BMI Showcase of Music Benefit for Hungry for Music in Washington DC and at the 40th Anniversary Gala Celebration of So Others Might Eat (SOME) with Bob Schieffer and Honky Tonk Confidential. Additionally, she performed in New Orleans commemorating the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Musical Credits. A member of the trio HOLLY, Montgomery was a regular performer at the House of Blues in West Hollywood and at the clubs on the Sunset Strip. With this band, she established herself as a rock singer and musician. Montgomery has opened for The Swell Season and Foreigner and performed with Sonia Rutstein-Disappear Fear, Wicked Jezabel, Ice Cube, The Mustangs, Billy White Acre, Big Planet, and Mark Dignam. She has also performed and recorded tracks with drummer and rock legend Aynsley Dunbar (Journey, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, and Jefferson Starship) and guitarist Randall Hall of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Montgomery has also written and performed with Dan Bern.

Holly Montgomery performed several times on the radio, including on the Carey Brothers’ national radio show On the House, the Peter Greenberg Worldwide Radio Show (which was nationally syndicated on Westwood One), and HGTV Radio. Her television credits include performances on Good Morning New Orleans on ABC 26 WGNO and on nationally syndicated Better TV. She has also been active as a session player for various commercials and television shows including performing for the American Comedy Awards soundtracks.
