Federico Parra
Federico is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, contemplative music teacher and harmonic singing expert, originally from Argentina. In 2014 Federico received an “extraordinary talents and achievements” Green Card (residence card) from the US immigration office based on his work in the field. He has studied and performed with internationally acclaimed contemplative musicians Lama Gyurme and David Hykes.
He served as “Artist in Residence” and director of the music program at Samadhi Integral (Massachusetts, US) for 3 years, where he regularly offered concerts, courses, and workshops on harmonic singing, drumming and his integrative approach to singing that he calls “Sacred Voice”. He has offered courses and workshops in Boston’s Lesley University and in the prestigious Berklee College of Music, as well as in South America. He served as choir teacher and conductor in Boston’s only bilingual public high school, Margarita Muñiz Academy for the year 2013-2014. Federico has 20 years of experience as a singer and have received an eclectic education (classical, armenian, taoist, harmonic and popular styles).
In addition to his musical pursues Federico has taken a dozen continuing education courses in clinical psychology with Dr. Daniel Brown (from Harvard Medical School), and is a Masters student in Clinical Psychology in Paris 8 University. He dedicated 12 years to the study and practice of Buddhist contemplative traditions of meditation, including completing all the levels of training in Dr. Brown’s “Pointing Out Way” system (Dzogchen/Mahamudra). He divides his time between Paris, France and Boston, in the US.
