The Katie Winter

I am songwriter based in the uk, and have been releasing records with my band ‘uncle black’ for the past ten years. However, my first love are songs that are more restrained, quieter, reflective but not introspective or cold. I want to write songs that seem simple, but then last after listening.
I have been releasing these songs as ‘the katie winter’ and more recently as ‘silkwinders’.

The first two eps by the katie winter were released on treetops records in 2010/11 and were collaborations with a seattle based songwriter, Holly Burton.
The most recent release, which is an ep entitled ‘song for the night’ is a collaboration with another songwriter based in the uk, Andrea Webster.
All these were released on my little label ‘treetops records’
