Mike Frazier

.
Virginian MIKE FRAZIER will be releasing his debut EP “VIRGINIA SON” on August 11th, 2015 through Geneva Records.

“VIRGINIA SON” features five tracks harkening back to classic artists like Creedance Clearwater Revival and The Clash, while incorporating the modern styles of artists such as Frank Turner and Hostage Calm. The EP blends rock and roll and punk music while lyrically exploring Frazier’s upbringing in Virginia and how it has affected his worldview. “VIRGINIA SON” was recorded at Valencia studios with Will Beasley (Turnstile, Dryjacket) in the winter of 2015.

FRAZIER says of the album “it’s my attempt at coming to terms with my life, and my way of reflecting on the world I exist in. After Random Holiday (Frazier’s former band) broke up, I reevaluated what drove me to want to create music. It led me back to artists I grew up listening to. I have vivid memories of my parents playing CCR and the rush that those songs gave me. I tried to capture that feeling in my own work, while lyrically pushing myself to write songs that can influence people personally and politically. I just wanted to take the songs that have been scratched into my soul since I was a child and blend them with the punk sound that made me want to pick up a guitar in the first place.”
