Kate and Jessie

Kate and Jessie met in middle school at age eleven, and began singing together when they were asked to sing “For Good” from Wicked as a duet in their seventh grade end of year chorus concert. They decided they rather enjoyed singing together, and promptly became very close friends. They continued singing together in eighth grade, before both being accepted to the Thomas Dale High School Specialty Center for the Arts, where they studied as classical voice majors for the next four years.

During their time at thomas dale, Kate and Jessie performed together in the top women’s ensemble, Chorale, and top mixed choir, Chamber, as well as performing together in recital settings and as soloists in Thomas Dale’s 2010 performance of John Rutter’s, Requiem.

Their freshman year, 2008, Kate began writing a song, “Rainy Sundays.” When stuck on how to continue writing the song, she turned to Jessie, and the duo began forming. In the following few years, the pair wrote music both apart and together while pursuing individual musical endeavors.

At the end of their senior year, Kate realized that graduation was right around the corner, and they’d soon be off to college, separating for the first time in six years. Very lengthy, novel-esque Facebook messages were sent, and the official duet of kate and jessie was born.

After a year of writing and recording, the pair released their first album, Legacy, on August 13th, 2013 on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and many other resources. They are currently writing for their second album, to be released in 2014.
