J Funky
Chicago’s very own JFunky (Jonathan Mayuga) has started breaking since the young age of 5. He was inspired by his older brother who brought home breaking video tapes and mentoring him in the dance. Now 21, he has taken his skills to the next level competing throughout the U.S. He has taken 1st place in some of the Midwest’s biggest jams such as Breakin the Law 9, Master the Art 9, ILBreakz 9 and World of Dance 2012. Recently he performed in a 1on1 exhibition against R16 Semi Finalist Saewl in Los Angeles, CA. For 2 years in a row RedBull has invited him to compete at the RedBull BC One Midwest Qualifier. JFunky’s love for breaking has taught him that you should never give up on your dreams, for one day it will become a reality within a blink of an eye.
